come may 14 - when the top 30 move on and everyone else "goes home" - how many units do you think it will take to get a T30 spot?

my guess is it will take at least 2B digit units - i'll say +12 units will be needed to move to round 2

anyone else care to chime in here

To be the top 30?

With 25 picks, if someone went 15-10, they would be +5 units (forget the +/- juice)

I doubt someone who hit 60% would not be in the top 30.

+5 units = 2nd round

If one unit = 100, then looking at the current standings, I would think contestant #30 probably would make it in with a total of 200.

Almost half of the players at 48 so far have negative totals, with 41 having positive values. If you're over the .500 percent mark picking them, with not playing the heavy favourites, you got a chance!

In a 50/50 game, the mean should be straight at the mid point of the sample. Since we have to pay juice, the mean should be slightly to the left of the mean without juice. I am not a stats expert, but the distribution of contestant probably will not change much to the end of the first phase.

Stay above .500 and you got a chance!
